Located in booth 4986, the Food Expo Forum will be the site for student competitions, education sessions, and presentations by exhibitors. Here’s the schedule:

Sunday, July 17

9:30 – 10:00 a.m.
Innovation Awards: The IFT Innovation Awards recognizes those companies that are leaders in their field, or have an exemplary new innovation that will be featuring at your IFT16 booth. New this year, the Innovation Awards will be presented on Sunday, July 17, from 9:30 – 10:00 am in the Food Expo Forum.

1:00 – 1:45 p.m.
Kerry: All That and a Bag of Chips—How to Compete in the Broadening Healthy Snack Category

Growing pressure to lead healthier, more active lifestyles is inspiring consumers to reevaluate their eating occasions. Consumers are skeptical of processed food & beverages, and turning to more varieties of wholesome, functional, more natural snacks to satisfy hunger and energy needs throughout the day.

In today’s technology enabled social climate, developing and launching new products requires more scrutiny when selecting ingredients and determining on pack claims. With information at their fingertips, consumers are demanding “natural & non-GMO” and reading labels looking for products they recognize and can pronounce. As an industry, we need to deliver products to meet those needs.
